Connect 2 Campbelltown Newsletter - a Cool survey opportunity or two, consultation outcomes and Coffee Chat
We are currently seeking your views for our Cool Refuge Project. By completing our survey you could win one of two $50 prize packs for The ARC Campbelltown.
Providing your feedback on this quick survey will help us to determine if there is demand for Council to establish one or more cool places for residents to go and spend time during the day on hot days, and, if there is a demand, how these facilities might be provided so that they are effective and well used by the Community.
Council gratefully acknowledges that this project is funded by the Federal Government (Disaster Risk Reduction Grants Program) and South Australian Government.
We are also taking feedback on the third batch of policies for our Policy Review and encourage you to provide your thoughts on asset management, waste services, The ARC Campbelltown and more! There are 12 policies to consider and we encourage you to provide feedback on any of the topics up for discussion.
Both consultations close at 4pm on Monday 10 July 2023.
COMPLETED PROJECTS
Policy Reviews batch 1 and 2
We recently reported back to Council in respect to policies considered for batch 1 and 2 policy reviews. At its meeting on 16 May 2023, Council considered the feedback received from the small but dedicated group of respondents. Changes were made to a number of policies, demonstrating the valuable input that the Community can have to influence Council policy.

By-Laws Review 2023
Council also considered the outcomes of the By-Laws Review consultation at its 16 May meeting (Item 11.1). Council received the small amount of feedback received and agreed in principle to proceed with making the following By-Laws:
• By-Law No 1 Permits and Penalties
• By-Law No 2 Moveable Signs
• By-Law No 3 Roads
• By-Law No 4 Local Government Land, and
• By-Law No 5 Dogs
Council will consider a further report (Item 11.2) at its meeting tomorrow night (20 June) in respect to formally making the by-laws. If Council supports making the by-laws after receiving specific reports from its solicitor confirming the validity of the by-laws and how they potentially impact National Competition Policy, they will be gazetted and then come into effect 4 months after the gazettal date.
Draft 2023/2024 Annual Business Plan & Budget
Council will also receive feedback (Item 11.1) from the consultation recently conducted regarding Council's proposed Annual Business Plan & Budget at its meeting tomorrow. Several changes have been proposed as a result of the extensive feedback received and Council is grateful to the 68 people who participated in this lengthy consultation survey.
