    Stage 2 consultation for Strategic Plan 2028

    We would love to see you at one of our upcoming workshops:

    • Face to face session – Wednesday 21 February (2pm - 4pm)
    • Online session – Tuesday 27 February (5.30pm - 7pm)

    Please register if you would like to participate. You will receive a free plant to grow at home as a token of thanks for participating!

    If you can't attend, you can use also use the registration form to receive a call back to provide feedback over the phone.

    Other ways to get involved:

    You can send through an online submission with your ideas and suggestions for the new Plan. Jeannie has provided a suggestion about seating in public areas that you might to comment on, or you could share your own idea to open up discussion with fellow residents and ratepayers.

    You are also welcome to provide feedback by sending us a letter or email.

    Cool Spaces Trial

    We are also excited to be trialling Cool Spaces for our Community this summer. Between 26 February and 30 March we will be activating our facilities for the Community to escape the summer heat during heatwaves. If you would like to participate, please register on our site.

    Next Month

    Council recently endorsed a Children's Plan for consultation.

    This consultation will be conducted during March, so watch this space for more information!

    PROJECT UPDATES

    Cool Spaces for Summer Trial

    Last year, with the assistance of grant funding from the Federal and State Governments, we undertook a project to identify whether there was demand for cool places where people could go and spend time during the day on hot days, and how these facilities might be provided so that they are effective and well used by the Community.

    We are pleased to advise that this project has now moved into a trial phase and you are invited to participate.

    The trial is only between 26 February and 30 March 2024, so don't delay!

    Playford Road Reserve Construction

    You may recall a major project we undertook during 2021 and 2022, to identify Community preferences in relation to upgrading Playford Road Reserves.

    Whilst the Newton Community Garden has been established and is quickly becoming productive, work has been underway behind the scenes to gather the budget and finalise design work for the Playford Road Reserve.

    We are excited to advise that the Playford Road Reserve construction is underway. Please stay clear of the area for your safety.

    We will share information as construction progresses for this new reserve space.

    Strategic Plan 2028 - Stage 2

    This month, we are holding gathering more data for our new Strategic Plan.

    You are invited to attend one of the following Information Session and Workshops to share your ideas further and help us identify the most important ideas for implementation in our City over the next 4 years.

    By registering and attending one of the following sessions you will receive a free plant in autumn as a token of our thanks for participating.
    • Wednesday 21 February (2pm - 4pm) - Face to Face
    • Tuesday 27 February (5.30pm - 7pm) - Online

    Foxfield Oval Building Consultation Outcomes

    During November/December 2023, Council conducted consultation on Foxfield Oval Hall Building Options. Thank you to everyone that participated in this consultation.

    At its meeting tomorrow night (23 January), Council will consider the outcomes of this consultation. The report is available from Council's agenda for the meeting (refer to page 99 onwards).

    You are invited to register to attend an Information Session and Workshop to help us connect, create and change aspects of our City over the next 4 years.

    COMPLETED PROJECTS

    Just prior to Christmas the following projects were reported back to Council at its meeting on 19 December.

    The ARC - Accessing the Main Entrance

    Council considered the results of this engagement and decided to investigate grant funding for the installation of an external lift to assist access. The money previously allocated for this purpose in the 2023/24 Annual Business Plan and Budget will now be carried forward to the draft 2024/25 Annual Business Plan and Budget. Following feedback from the community, Council also decided to investigate trialling access via the back door to The ARC.

    Padova Court / Monaro Crescent Reserve Playground - Stage 2

    Council noted the results of this engagement conducted on the Draft Concept Plan for the upgrade of the Padova Court / Monaro Crescent Reserve Playground and approved the Concept Plan as presented for consideration at the time of formulating the draft 2024/2025 Annual Business Plan and Budget. In response to concerns raised by the community, Council staff will investigate noise reduction options for the basketball court and its relocation further from nearby houses.

    Paradise Recreation Plaza Now Open

    The Paradise Recreation Plaza opened on 20 December and is already proving popular with people of all ages for wheel-based activities. You can discover what our newest facility has to offer here. Even better, why not pay a visit?

    At its meeting on 5 December, Council considered the outcomes of the Strategic Plan Stage 1 Consultation as well as the Batch 4 Policy Review. With the exception of two policies, this completes all policy review work for the year and we would like to thank everyone who has provided feedback on one or more policy documents during the year.

    CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

    There are a few more days until the Foxfield Oval Hall Building Options consultation closes. Check out the proposed building plans and have your say by 4pm, Monday December 2023.

    Council is also seeking your feedback for its Community Satisfaction Survey. Let us know how we are doing - what are we doing well and what needs to improve? This consultation is open until 4pm, Monday 15 January 2024 so there is still plenty of time to get involved.

    Foxfield Oval Hall Building Options

    Council is exploring three building options for the upgrade of Foxfield Oval Hall located on Maryvale Road in Athelstone. Watch our short videos for an overview of the three options as well as a tour of the existing condition of the Hall. Further details on each proposal are available on our website.

    To get involved, you can:

    • Attend our Community Talking Point from 4-6pm on Wednesday 29 November
    • Fill out a survey online or in hard copy
    • Send us an email or letter with your thoughts on the proposals.

    To enable us to consider your feedback, please let us know our thoughts by Monday 11 December 2023.

    Lochiel Park Recreational Areas Master Plan

    Onsite discussions on the opportunities and the planning, development and management of the Lochiel Park Recreational Areas will be held on Sunday 5 November at the Lochend Community Hall. These will be led by Lesley Humphreys from LMH Consulting.

    You are welcome to register for one of the following sessions:

    NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK TALK WITH EAST WASTE

    Do you find recycling confusing?

    Want to know more about how you can waste less?

    Cut through the noise and hear from the people in the know about what can be recycled, and where in the Campbelltown City Council area.
