What happened to the Lochiel Park dog park proposal? Council needs a fit-for purpose dog park.

A number of community members have recently enquired about the possibility of an additional dog park. While dog parks are not part of this specific consultation, we wanted to provide a brief update.

At its meeting on 17 December 2024, Council adopted the Lochiel Park Recreation Areas Master Plan. In response to community feedback received during consultation, the Plan was adopted with the exclusion of the proposed regulatory dog on leash and off leash areas.

At its meeting on 17 March 2026, Council is considering a report outlining potential alternative locations for a new dog park within the City of Campbelltown. To read the report in the agenda visit www.campbelltown.sa.gov.au/council/council-and-committees/council

Community members are welcome to attend the meeting to listen to discussions. Alternatively, minutes and audio recording will be available on Council’s website by no later than 5 pm on Friday 20 March 2026.
