We are seeking your feedback on our Draft Public Consultation Policy
Campbelltown City Council has a long-standing commitment to engaging with the community in a way that is transparent, inclusive and consistent with the principles of the Local Government Act 1999. As part of this commitment, Council is reviewing its Public Consultation Policy to ensure it remains aligned with best practice and the Local Government Association (LGA) Community Engagement Charter, which came into effect in December 2025.
The Draft Public Consultation Policy builds on Council’s existing approach by strengthening how community engagement is planned, delivered and evaluated. It reflects the principles of the LGA Community Engagement Charter, including meaningful participation, accessible communication, transparency, accountability, and demonstrating how community feedback informs Council decisions.
The updated Policy aims to improve consistency across Council’s engagement activities while ensuring opportunities for participation remain inclusive, accessible and responsive to community needs. By reviewing and updating the Policy, Council is seeking to further strengthen community confidence in its decision-making processes and maintain a high standard of community engagement.
We invite you to review the Draft Public Consultation Policy and share your views. Complete the short survey and provide any additional written feedback to help shape how Council engages with residents, businesses and stakeholders in the future. Your feedback will help ensure the Policy continues to reflect the expectations of our community and the principles of the LGA Community Engagement Charter.
