Background

How should your Elected Members interact with the community, Council staff and one another? What standard of behaviour do you expect?

And how might Council manage situations where someone refuses to comply with a Council regulation? What are your expectations when a matter is raised with Council?

We invite you to provide feedback on two draft policies we have developed to address each of these issues:

What’s Being Proposed?

Behavioural Support Policy

This Policy has been created to establish a set of behaviours for Council's Elected Members to adhere to when interacting with the Community, Council staff and other Elected Members.

Enforcement Policy

This Policy has been created to provide a legal framework for managing non-compliance with regulations that are managed by Council. The Policy will assist with managing expectations of complaints related to parking, dog and cat management, fire prevention, local nuisance and litter, and other local government matters.

How you can get involved:

We invite your feedback on these policies. You are welcome to tell us what you support, what you think should be changed or improved, or if you think we have missed something.
