Council conducted a Stage 1 consultation to identify the preferred location for a potential dog park. Council endorsed Lochiel Park Oval as the preferred location for a second Dog Park in the Council area. Staff will now prepare a Concept Plan for the purpose of public consultation.

Campbelltown City Council is home to 6,423 dogs with one in four households having one or more dogs as pets. Previous engagement with the community in 2018/2019 indicated that there is a demand for a Dog Park in the Campbelltown City Council area that accommodates both large and small dogs. It also indicated that many in the community feel that the Four Paws Dog Park at Denis Morrissey Reserve does not meet the needs of many dog owners.

STAGE 1 OF THIS CONSULTATION CLOSED ON 10 AUGUST 2020

During the Stage 1 consultation, Council provided an opportunity for the community to give feedback on the need for a Dog Park in the Campbelltown Council area and asked the community to consider a location from a short-list of six locations. Council received feedback from over 700 people, which has been reviewed and considered. A preferred location will be considered with the presentation of the Community Engagement Outcomes Report at Council on 17 November 2020. If the recommendation is accepted at Council a Stage 2 consultation will occur with a Draft Dog Park Concept Plan for the community to consider and provide feedback on.
