Project Details

The Community Plan was developed in consultation with Community members who live and recreate in the area and groups, clubs and organisations who work in the Community. The Community Plan builds on the first Social Plan 2020 and captures people’s ideas, aspirations, gaps and solutions they have for the Community they want to live in. The Community Plan links with other Council plans, however the focus of the Community Plan is on the people. For example open space appears in other Council Plans, for the Community Plan it focuses on how people feel in the open space; how people use it for play, recreation and leisure and to ensure people of all ages, cultures and abilities can utilise the space.

The Community Plan outlines the role of Council in working with the Community including direct service delivery, partnership and collaboration, community development and advocacy.

The draft Plan was endorsed by Council for public consultation at its meeting on 19 January 2021. The Report is available on our website in the Agenda for this meeting. It is item 11.2 pp. 113-150.

About the Plan

  1. Liveable Community
