Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote on the mural designs. We were very pleased with the Community response with 308 votes received.

The top three designs were sent to SA Water for finals approval and decision.

We are pleased to announce that ‘Wetlands’ by local artist Grant Fleming has been chosen as the design to be installed at Lochiel Park..

This design received the highest number of votes from the Community.

Thanks to all the local artists, Tali De Lacy, Leon Ferrante, Ann Marie Morrissey, Beiha-Malen Yanez for being part of the working party and contributing designs.

Mr Fleming will now lead this fabulous team of artists to install the mural over the next couple of months.

This consultation has closed. Thank you to everyone that viewed and voted on the designs.

Over recent years, artists and Community members had requested that a mural could be painted on the big water tank at Lochiel Park.

SA Water, as the land owners of the site, gave permission this project to proceed, and set the following guidelines:

  1. A water element
  2. An Indigenous Cultural connection – approved by an Elder
  3. Environmental/ Flora/ Fauna element

A small group of local artists was brought together to discuss mural ideas and 7 design ideas were created. The Community were able to provide their feedback on which design they preferred, with SA Water making the final decision on this matter.
