FAQs
Why do I need to register?
Registering provides you with full access to all projects on the site, whilst providing us with surety about who is online and their connection to Campbelltown. It also enables us to check whether people have accessed more than one engagement tool during a consultation opportunity; it is important to Council and the Community that no one individual overly influences the outcomes of our engagement opportunities.
Can I participate without registering?
You will still be able to see our site as it is embedded on our public website Campbelltown.sa.gov.au. However you won’t be able to provide your thoughts, feedback and ideas using all of the tools on the site as some of them require you to login to participate.
We aren’t being nosy by asking you to register, rather we are seeking important demographic information that helps us to analyse whether we have received feedback from our target audience for certain consultations (eg young people, parents and carers in relation to playground consultations). It also helps us to work out whether we need to do more work to get people from certain demographics or locations to connect with us (eg if a consultation mostly affects people in Tranmere, we need to make sure that all of our response isn’t from people in Paradise and Athelstone).
If you don’t register with us, you can still check our site regularly to find out about other opportunities (eg when hard copy surveys are available, or Talking Points or other meetings are occurring).
We would just love to have your input regularly, without you having to complete demographic information each time you contact us. You can Sign Up here
How can I participate?
You can share your thoughts, ideas and feedback with us in a number of different ways.
Some consultations will take place online through surveys, polls and other opportunities to provide feedback. Other consultations will involve face-to-face meetings, stakeholder workshops and events.
By registering for Connect 2 Campbelltown , you will be able to share your thoughts online and register to attend Talking Points, workshops and other face-to-face opportunities. You will also receive regular communications from us to ensure you don’t miss any of the opportunities available.

What happens to my feedback?
Your comments, ideas and suggestions are collated at the end of each consultation and analysed by our team to create a Community Engagement Outcomes report.
This information is then provided to the relevant subject matter expert to inform any changes to the proposed project (eg plan, playground or activity) or to formulate a recommendation to Council regarding whether changes are required to the project, activity or program consulted upon.
The feedback we receive online is combined with any other feedback we receive during the engagement opportunity from other consultation sources (eg hard copy surveys, social media, Talking Points, letters and emails).
While all feedback received as part of an engagement is considered in the decision-making process, this does not mean that every suggestion can be taken on board and adopted as proposed. Sometimes Council doesn’t proceed with projects, activities or programs at all due to matters unrelated to the consultation.

How will engagement results be announced?
Whilst results are usually available on the Council meeting agendas and minutes pages, the best way to find out what has happened to a project is to follow the project and receive newsletter updates.
How is my privacy protected?
This site and our sign up form are secure and protect your privacy, in line with expectations in Council’s Privacy Policy.
Any data you provide us, either through the sign up process or during an engagement, will be treated with sensitivity and used for the purposes it was supplied.
For any online comments, forums, ideas and stories you choose to contribute to, your screen Username will be publicly visible, but all other information will remain private. Please make sure to choose a Username that you are comfortable being publicly visible.
What is the IAP2 framework and why does Council use this?
The IAP2 framework is an internationally recognised engagement system that is used widely across Australian government and non-government organisations. It enables us to recognise that each project is different and as such, the tools we use are adapted for each engagement opportunity. This helps us to get feedback from the most impacted group of people and provide the best tools for participation, resulting in the most impacted people being able to have a meaningful influence on the outcomes to an engagement opportunity.
There are four levels of engagement used by Council, ranging from informing everyone about a project to creating partnerships with the Community to agree on a way forward. Some projects include stages. These projects may have various engagement opportunities as well as levels of engagement depending on where we are up to in undertaking the project.
If you have a strong interest in a project, it is recommended that you Follow the Project to receive updates and/or keep checking back on our site to see if there is an opportunity to participate in the project.
