Help us enhance one of our Community's most popular open spaces

Council has developed a Draft Master Plan for the Lochiel Park Recreation Areas, one of the Community's most popular open spaces. The Draft Plan, developed after the initial consultation stage in November 2023, aligns with Council's vision for the area as:

A natural green, biologically diverse and beautiful public open space in and around the Lochiel Park development.

What's Being Proposed?

The Draft Master Plan features a new play space, additional artwork, seating and shade, irrigation to the grassed area with soccer goals, a new public toilet, improvements to the basketball half-court, new plantings and enhanced trails to the wetlands and the River Torrens.

An off-leash dog exercise area is proposed for the undeveloped mulched area between Lochend Community Hall and the River Torrens Linear Park. This area will not be fenced.

These elements and more are set out in the proposed design for the Lochiel Park Recreation Areas. The complete Draft Master Plan, which includes recommendations for each zone, can be downloaded HERE.
