Planning together for our Community

Council’s Strategic Plan 2010-2020 (Towards 2020) was prepared in 2010 and revised in 2016. A new Plan has been prepared for use from 2021.

Stage 1 consultation occurred in February 2020. Following this, Staff considered all feedback and prepared a report for Council to consider at its 7 July Council meeting. The report is available on our website in the Agenda (pp 183 - 324) for this meeting.

Council then spent time considering a fresh new Vision for its Community and the Council area. Stage 2 consultation was conducted 7-28 September 2020 and the Community Outcomes report was presented to Council on 6 October 2020. The report is available on our website in the Agenda (pp 105-114) for this Meeting.

Council resolved to endorse the Vision Statement 'A safe, sustainable, vibrant Community' for its next Strategic Plan.

A further report on proposed Goals for the Strategic Plan was prepared and considered by Council at its meeting on 3 November 2020. The Report is available on our website in the Agenda (pp 135-142) for this meeting.

The draft Plan was then prepared and presented to Council for consideration for endorsement for public consultation at its meeting on 2 February 2021. The Report is available on our website in the Agenda (pp 33-64) for this meeting.

This Stage 3 consultation was reported to Council at its meeting on 16 March 2021 and the Plan was adopted.
