Background

Council is considering the development of Hambledon Hub, a brand-new community facility in the heart of Campbelltown. The proposed location is 34a Hambledon Road, Campbelltown (site of the old Campbelltown Kindergarten, which closed in 2010). The Hub will provide opportunities for community members of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to connect, learn, share, and thrive.

What’s being proposed

The Hambledon Hub is designed as a modern, two-level community facility that reflects the priorities identified through earlier engagement with local residents and service providers. Council is now undertaking Stage 2 Consultation to gather feedback from the broader community to ensure the Hambledon Hub meets local needs. This is an exciting opportunity for residents to help shape a facility that would become a central hub for connection, learning, and support in Campbelltown.

Ground Floor:

  • Undercroft carpark
  • Flexible, multipurpose meeting room.
  • Adult change facility
  • Multiple storage areas
  • Covered outdoor area
  • Community garden

First Floor:

  • Community kitchen
  • Multiple flexible meeting rooms
  • Dedicated outreach service spaces
  • Centralised staff office area
  • Multipurpose quiet room

The Hambledon Hub is recognised as one of Council’s Major Projects and is included in the Long-Term Financial Plan. The estimated cost is $9 million, based on securing 50% grant funding. A more refined cost estimate will be determined during the detailed design phase.

A Council report providing further information about the project and a video about the project are also available.
