Project Update Summary (February 2023)

During August and September 2022 the Community were invited to provide feedback on draft concept plans for Tranquil Court and Donald Street Playgrounds. The Stage 1 consultations for Donald Street and Tranquil Court in December 2020 and January 2021 involved the local Community in developing a concept design. The consultation identified the Community’s ideas for playground and minor reserve upgrades.Concept Plans were then prepared based on the Community feedback and from independent inspections regarding usability and life span of the equipment at each playground.

Due to the need to deliver the Government Stimulus Packages which include the Thorndon Park Super Playground, non-urgent works on other playgrounds in the City were to ensure Council could deliver those stimulus programs within the grant funding required timeframes.

On Tuesday 7 February Council endorsed the draft concept plans and will consider allocating funding for them in the Draft 2023/2024 Annual Business Plan and Budget. You can view the concept plans from page 128 in the Council agenda.
